Lexar NM790 2TB M.2 PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD, 7400MB/s, LNM790X002T-RNNNG
The Lexar NM790 2TB M.2 2280 PCIe Gen 4x4 NVMe SSD (LNM790X002T-RNNNG) is an internal drive for desktop PCs, laptops and PlayStation 5 owners who want faster loading and transfers. It reads at up to 7400MB/s and writes at up to 6500MB/s, with a 1500 TBW endurance rating and a five-year limited warranty.
Key features
- Up to 7400MB/s read and 6500MB/s write: for shorter game load times and faster large-file copies.
- Up to 1,000,000 random read IOPS: quick response when launching apps and handling many small files (up to 900,000 write IOPS).
- 1500 TBW endurance: rated for 1,500 terabytes written, backed by a five-year limited warranty and 1,500,000 hours MTBF.
- Thin single-sided M.2 2280: 2.45 mm thick and 6 g, suited to slim laptops as well as desktops and PS5.
- Efficient Host Memory Buffer design: uses HMB 3.0 and dynamic SLC caching; Lexar quotes up to 40% lower power than DRAM-cache Gen4 SSDs in its internal testing.

Compatibility
Lexar lists the NM790 as compatible with laptops, desktop computers and PlayStation 5. Your device needs an M.2 2280 slot that supports PCIe NVMe; a PCIe Gen4 slot is needed to reach the full rated speeds.
Who it's for
Suited to: gamers expanding PC or PS5 storage, laptop upgrades with a single-sided M.2 2280 slot, and creators who move large video and photo files.
Not suited to: computers with only SATA M.2 or 2.5-inch drive bays. Need more space? See the Lexar NM790 4TB, or the Lexar NM790 1TB for a smaller budget.
FAQs
Does the Lexar NM790 2TB work in a PS5?
Yes, Lexar lists PlayStation 5 compatibility for the NM790.
How fast is the NM790 2TB?
Up to 7400MB/s sequential read and 6500MB/s sequential write, with up to 1,000,000 random read IOPS, based on Lexar's internal testing.
What is the TBW rating of the 2TB model?
The 2TB NM790 is rated for 1500 TBW and has a five-year limited warranty.
Will it work in a PCIe Gen3 M.2 slot?
